What We Do
The AET Group specializes in the evaluation of existing public and private roadways as well as on-site construction inspection and materials testing for wind, solar, and battery energy storage facilities.
Over the past 16 years, our pavement team has completed data collection and roadway evaluation on over 18,000 lane miles of haul roads for more than 350 renewable energy projects across the Central U.S. Our project managers and pavement engineers provide Road Use Agreement (RUA) review, pre-project planning, roadway testing and evaluation, and recommendations for roadway surfaces and materials (bituminous, concrete, aggregate, and soil). Based on the results of testing and analysis, we provide pre- construction road improvement recommendations and post-construction rehabilitation strategies. Our services can help contractors, project developers, and road owners maintain roadways for both conventional and haul traffic for due diligence or to meet the requirements of the RUA.
Our on-site construction testing services cover a wide variety of both field inspection and laboratory testing. Field inspection services may include nuclear density testing and DCP testing of access roadways, proof rolling observations of access roadways, tower foundation excavation observations, reinforcing steel inspection, testing of plastic concrete and casting concrete cylinders, foundation backfill testing, crane pad testing, testing of non-shrink grout, and observations of anchor bolt tensioning. Our laboratory testing services may include compression testing of concrete cylinders and grout cubes, proctor testing, and mechanical analysis.
